I havd both, most likely. I always had irregular cycles. Sometimes,it would dissapear for 10 months. I am allergic to most birth controls,so I am abstinent. I'm also sensitive to pain pills, plus I can't swallow pills. I need a Laparoscopy surgery. I can't even afford medical insurance. I hate this.

Hi Dr. Rich. How do you suggest a patient find a doctor for endometriosis excision surgery in the United States? Some insurances are limited like medical and you cannot really find a “endo specialist” doctor. Help please.

Yasmin user here! It has certainly helped to manage my heavy flow periods and PMDD but the older I become the worse my symptoms are. Every month I suffer through severe panic attacks. Half my face goes numb, my body becomes weak and paralyzed, my heart feels like its being twisted, everything slows down and feels like an eternity with the worst ringing in my ears (like some explosion all around me). I live in Missouri with next to no hope for a hysterectomy.

Gonna give a solid “it depends.” If I’m on my period, I’m wearing two pairs 🩲🩲 , TBH, because it helps my pad bot slip and it makes me mentally comfortable enough to get a good night’s rest. Most of the time though, commando 🪖 all the way. But if I’m sleeping away from home, I’ll probably wear underwear 🩲 just to be safe.

Oh so it's not normal to have golf ball sized cyst ruptures that leave me bedridden every month and constant urination and multiple panic attacks. Thankfully my birth control helps the bleeding but it's still an issue. And doctors still won't listen because I'm 23 and fat despite my family history of menstrual complications.

Thank you for talking about using the pil to prevent periods occasionally indefinitely. I am on that regimen for a number of reasons and so many people are convinced that I am doing something truly horrific to my body, despite the fact that multiple doctors over the years have agreed that is the right, and a safe, choice for me.

I’ve had severe endometriosis and I got checked back then and they told me I had two cysts on both my ovaries they told me to come back and I didn’t years went by and man I was at work the pain was unbearable I couldn’t even do my job I took pain killers and it didn’t even work I was still in pain I guess whenever I got my period the cysts would become inflamed and no matter how in pain I was people didn’t believe me then in. 2018 I got that surgery and I felt somewhat better they took both of the cysts out and the doctor told me they weren’t going to touch my ovaries but that was a lie they had to take out one of my ovaries and I was mad so now I do still have pain but every time I explain it to somebody it makes me look like I’m crazy cuz they don’t understand the type of pain I’m in and it honestly sucks having one ovary i just hope I can still have kids I just wish I got information about this sooner but nobody talks about this even the doctors like please educate yourselves on this cuz it’s no joke especially the unbearable pain 😢

Happened to me! I had already been having some weird health issues for like two years so any pregnancy symptoms kept getting attributed to that. I also hadn't gotten my period in two years for some reason no one could figure out. I was literally wearing my same size six clothes the entire time. Then one night i closed my bar down at midnight and went to the emergency room thinking i had appendicitis or something. By morning I was a Mom. He's nearly two now and it amazes me how quickly we managed to throw everything together, with a ton of help from friends and family of course.

I never had painful periods growing up. Had the Essure implanted (31 years old) and started having horrible pain within 6 months, started hemorrhaging every month. Doctors told me I was old and to get used to it. Asked to have the Essure removed, was told no, lets add an IUD, I said no. Finally, after 15 years found a doctor who listened and said I needed a Hysterectomy because I had Endo and the Essure would obviously need to be removed at the same time. I was referred to a specialist because my regular Ob/GYN said I probably had severe endo and he wasn't qualified to do it. I didn't like the specialist and found a different doctor to do the hysterectomy after the surgery I asked how bad the Endo was, NONE! I didn't have it. I was having an allergic reaction to my Essure which I told the original doctor 6 months after it was inserted, and she didn't believe me. Pain and hemorrhaging aren't normal! Find a doctor that listens and doesn't dismiss your concerns or questions.

I can soooo relate. After six years of IVF, numerous operations, being put into menopause and having laser surgery (told it was the worst case of endometriosis they had ever seen), ectopic pregnancy with twins, miscarriage and fallopian tube rupture. Also my uterus was retroverted, reflux. Which means it laid backwards and folded in half. My endometriosis was everywhere including the "pouch of Douglas", which meant that every month my bowel was cut off and would go into spasms. Very painful and vomiting. I would not give up on children. I did eventually have twins (girl and boy). Born very early and a lot of problems. They are now 25 years old. The boy is autistic and the girl ADHD both have anxiety issues but that is a crap father (ex) problem. I did have another boy 4 years later all on my own. He was born very early (dancing on umbilical cord) and is autistic and ADHD. Finally at 44 had full hysterectomy, best thing ever. Now watching my daughter going down same path. Has been on pill since 12 (first period) because period hadn't stopped after 4 weeks. Ahh!! The joys of being a woman and they call us the weaker sex.

So the interesting part is yes to all of the rest of the things you said UNTIL i got pregnant and found a cyst in my womb/overies at the opposite side to the hemotoma both similar.. perhaps waiting for labour to feel this way because at least i know what im in for and maybe that will be the final straw to possibly being diagnosed with the same thing as my sister and, possibly finding out why my periods have been this way ever since my periods began.

In the beginning when my periods were all wonky and hard to keep track of, some periods managed to overlap and I somehow got a period that lasted nearly a month. It was mostly light bleeding, but it was still a period. It was probably the strangest thing that's ever happened with my body. (I did go to a doctor btw. Everything was fine in the end besides being low on iron.)

I can't go commando because the sensation of the underwear helps me control my bladder. I'm capable of running around commando, but I have to be aware of my bladder the whole time. Sleeping commando? Do NOT be surprised if I wind up wetting the bed.

A friend of mine was 55 and hadn't had a period in a year, so medicine tells us that she was fully menopausal. But nay-nay, she ended up pregnant and had her daughter at 56. She went almost full term thinking she had an Ovarian cyst.

I had a hysterectomy 6 months ago for adenomyosis. Last month I started having cramping again with the urgency to pee. I have microscopic blood in my urine. Ultrasounds of my kidneys, bladder, and ovaries are all good. I had a cystoscopy last week, and the inside of my bladder looks great. The urologist said, "looks great. See ya!" And that's about it.

I am older than dirt. I went to high school in the 1970’s. I was an athlete who was not schmeggsually active at the time this happened. Started my periods at about 13. I amped up my athletic activities along with tumbling/cheerleading, riding a bike everywhere, and running all the time. I stopped having a period! My mother freaked thinking I was pregnant. At the time I hadn’t done anything with anyone. Like NOTHING so if I was pregnant…I was the next immaculate conception. 😂 I didn’t have a period for over 2 years. I had no idea that women who exercise too much and basically lose their body fat don’t menstruate. Didn’t know for YEARS that’s what happened. Even my doctor couldn’t figure it out back then. Anyway…we love Hayley. She is fearless and funny! Glad you like her, too, Doc!

I'm sure it's an expensive procedure. I know what it feels like. I've lost my job on several occasions and missed out on appointments and engagements all because of this. I found out that i have ovarian cyst and endometriosis and i pray to God everyday to heal me of it. I'm very scared of surgery. Nobody belives me when im in pain. I sometimes pass out because of it. Im anemic as well. I literally live in fear few days to my period because of the fear of the intense pain. I am literally bedridden for 3 days. Cant even stand up straight to walk by day 3. Never had surgery in my life 😢😫😞. I dont have kids yet and not married so im definitely scared of it. Doctors have advised me to get kids before having surgery.

This was my exact story!!! Except I didn’t get diagnosed until I was 26 thankfully I had one child at 20 but had to have a full hyst & ooph afterwards. During the 5 years after the birth of my only child I didn’t have a period at all, just incredibly overwhelming pain, and vomiting every morning for 3 weeks out of a month. I dramatic, a hypochondriac, and hysterical for no reason, because I wasn’t even having a period therefore my pain was “all in my head” 😑
